Going Camping

This year I’m going to be attending an online writer’s retreat called Camp NaNoWriMo. WriteOnCon, the online writer’s conference I attended last month was a great experience, and it’s got me intrigued about Camp.

I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month - for the last 5 years. National Novel Writing Month, is an annual, Internet-based creative writing project that takes place during the month of November. Participants attempt to write a 50,000-word manuscript between November 1 and November 30 (source.)

I’ve won NaNoWriMo 4 times; completing Mary the Queen, 50 Book Summer, Turn the Paige, and Tilted during the contest. I am hoping that the added pressure and support of Camp NaNoWriMo will help get my focus back. In the months since completing My Mother Road I have started (or restarted) 7 projects, but I haven’t broken 10k on any of them before chasing the next thread of seraphim.

So, I’m hoping for some luck of the Irish to see me through to the end of Camp NaNoWriMo and the completion of another project. I’ll try to keep my site and social media updated with letters from Camp.
