We're off to the races...

We have been querying agents since the beginning of March, and I’ve already checked my email about 200,000 times. Everyone that I have talked to about the process says that it will be at least a month before I start getting responses, and it could be longer. Queue hourly anxiety as i check my email again and again.

I’m trying to abate the urge to check my phone by researching, writing, and updating my website, but I still find myself tabbing over to glance at Gmail. Since sending the first query I have watched The Umbrella Academy, and completed the play-through of the new Sims 4 expansion pack Welcome to Strangerville.

The Umbrella Academy was SO GOOD! It was weird, but in the best ways. I am crushing hard on Klaus, but aren’t we all.

Welcome to Night Vale meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers in Welcome to Strangerville. It was definitely a different take on The Sims, but I don’t think I will bother playing through the story line again. There was less mystery than I had hoped for, and more ceaseless grinding.

The big distraction that I began this week is rewriting Finding Gloriana. I lost interest in the book the first time through, and the main character was not flawed enough for me to stay invested in her. With some variation in the back story, and more refined characteristics I’m eager to get back into the thick of it.

So, while I’m waiting to cross the finish line with My Mother Road I am going to keep writing and fangirling.
