The Power of Giving Up
Don’t give up on your dream of being a writer.
Give up on the need to prove to everyone else that you are worthy of those dreams.
Don’t give up on honing your craft.
Give up on the need to be as good as somebody else.
Don’t give up on that project that’s been tugging on your attention, because it’s too '“out there.”
Give up on the need to only write what’s trendy or fashionable. If you like vampires - write vampires.
Don’t give up on writing the things that matter to you. Strong themes can drive powerful prose.
Give up on people that are uncomfortable with you addressing powerful themes.
Don’t give up on yourself. Writing is hard, but you are capable, adaptable, and worthy of self care.
Give up on making others happy. You don’t write for others. You write for yourself first.
